Er… if this article was in the Western Mail 130 years ago then that would be 1893. If Robert Jones was 102 at that time and retired as and agricultural worker in 1889 this would mean he worked in the fields up to the age of 98! They certainly bred them tough in Llanddewi-Brefi, back in the day.
He did indeed work as an agricultural worker until he was in his late 90s!!!
