12/13 Pontmorlais West (Lewis & Sons) was where I was born in 1958 and lived there until 1965 when the family business was sold to Webb’s Carpets. Lewis & Sons were my great grandparents and they then passed the business to my Father, who was the son of of Sybil Lewis. I have so many fond memories of my childhood at 12/13. After the sale of the business, my parents and I moved next door to 14 Pontmorlais West where I grew up until leaving Merthyr many years later. My parents continued to live at number 14 until my Mother’s passing in 2006, after which that house was sold. My thanks to my good friend, Peter Rogers, for submitting this picture and also for his help and historical knowledge.
Thank you John.
